Salted Caramel and Chocolate Sunny Sky Cake

This little chocolate and salted caramel number is about to turn into one of my cutest projects yet!

I was given free rein for this baby shower cake which was very exciting. I was thinking about new beginnings and happy times. Also, the parents love to grow flowers in their amazing garden and baby is due to arrive at the start of Spring, so sunny skies and daisies in bloom it was!

The canvas was a bright sunny day, so I started with this brilliant sky blue as the base. Both layers got their moment in the fridge so I could make sure the edges were looking nice and sharp.

Once the cakes were stacked, I got on with the decorating.

I started by piping the flower stems all along the bottom tier of the cake, and then creating buttercream leaves as a cute little detail.

I piped the middle of each daisy. Then went through with some white buttercream for the petals and then to really set the scene I went back in with the white buttercream to make these cartoon clouds for the top tier.

Finally, the topper, check out these cookies!! We love an edible cake topper. These are the perfect finishing touch

I am absolutely in love with how this one turned out and the excited parents were thrilled!
